[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] .Airs. W. Tomlinson has left for Australia, where she will spend a holiday. Mrs. Moore (Blaketown) is spending a holiday in AVaiuta. Miss A. O’Donnell was a visitor to Greymouth during last. week. Rc-v. Father Ginisty was a visitor to AVaiuta for tire week end. Miss K. Crowe, who has been visiting AVaiuta. as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. .1. Keenan, has returned to Runa.nga. Thu Il.v. Mix T. AV. Parsons was a viiitor to AVaiuta. this week-end. Mr. Fergusson (RceftoiD was ;> -Hi..or for the week-end. Mr. R. Baird (Brunner) was a ''isite” to AVaiuta for the week-end. Thu AVaiuta ladies’ hockey team journeyed to Reefton on Saturday., where: they played the local team. Tile Rcei'ton team prevailed after a good game by 9 goals to 2, Misses Douglas and Collins scoring' for AVaiuta. The Waiuta team played a sound game, uom sidciing most of the team had never played hockey before this season, and with, a, little practice they should Im hard io beat.

AVaiuta, again successfully defended the O'Donnell Challenge Cup on Sunday, when they beat Rapahoe by 5 points to -1, after one of the hardest games witnessed on this ground. Howard scored a try for AVaiuta, ami Thorn kicked a penalty goal. Mr. F. Baird was an impartial referee. Players and spectators alike were disappointed when the Cronadun Rugby footballers failed to put in an appearance. AVaiuta were fielding a good icam and held hopes of winning the game.

A large number of the public were present at. the Club Rooms on Saturday to listen-in to the fourth Test match, at Wellington. Mr. Hogg had installed Ills set there for the afternoon, and this allowed a large number who were interested in the welfare of their respective teams to listen to the progress of the game. At the conclusion of the game, Mr. H. A.
