TIMBER TARIFF

CANBERRA. July 26.
The Minister of Customs has announced a new schedule of duties on imported timbers. The rate on Oregon logs is increased from five ,to thirty per cent on undressed; sawn Oregon, eight'to fourteen.shillings per hundred super feet. Slight increases are also made on timbers, other than redwood or cedar.
