GARDEN BORDER

MADE OF GOLD-BEARING QUARTZ.

LITHGOW (N.S.W.), June 28, Gold valued at £7O has been found in a Lithgow back yard. A quantity of white quartz used as a border for the garden was recently examined by a gold prospector, and he declared the stone to be the richest he had seen.

The present occupier of the property does not know where the stone came from. He remembers, as a boy, going to Cox’s River, and also to Williewa Creek, near Portland, with his father, and brfnging back some quartz. The father, howeyer, died some time ago, and the son and his brothers have scoured the localities without success.
