NEW PLYMOUTH, July 23.
At the Magistrate’s Court, Edward Roebuck, who was convicted of assaulting the referee during a football match at Okato, was fined £JO for as. sault, and £1 for using indecent language. ’ He was also ordered to pay costs amounting to £2/12/-.
The match arranged for this afternoon between Mawhera and Hokitika hockey teams for the Milligan Cup, was not played, owing to the nonarrival of the Hokitika team.
