The annual social and dance of the Old Girls’ Basket Ball Club was held in the Soldiers’ Hall last night, and was a distinct success. <
The Hokitika Municipal Band paid another visit to the Seaview Mental Hospital on Tuesday evening. They played a lengthy programme, including dance music, which -was appreciated by all and dancing indulged in. The usual hospitality was shown the Band by the staff. The death occurred somewhat suddenly yesterday (Thursday) afternoon of Mrs Roxborough, wife of Mr James Roxborough, of Hampden Street, Hokitika, 'fhe deceased had not been well lately, and received a further shock when her daughter and son-in-law (Mr and Mrs Howat) were injured in the fire in Greymouth recently. She was removed to the Westland Hospital yesterday afternoon and died shortly after her admission. She leaves a husband and daughter.
