WELLINGTON GAS FIRE
WELLINGTON, May 5
In connection with the fire at the railway gas., containers, it is now ascertained that as. far as the material damages is concerned, the blaze was probably not disastrous, for no great damage was done to the gas house, and the containers are capable of fairly quick repair; but until the gas house is in working order again, it will be difficult to supply carriages with gas, for, as it was., it was necessary to keep the plant going full pressure in order to meet requirements.
