OPERA HOUSE TO-NIGHT.
History as it happened and not as a scenarist imagined it, is to be seen on the screen at the Opera House, in the' romantic love story, “The Divine Lady,” with Corinne Griffith in the starring role, tells the somewhat tragic romance of Lady Hamilton and Lord Nelson. Actual historic personages, instead of mythical characters thrust, into the plot, are the central figures of the story and their lives are dealt with exactly as historians have recorded .them. “The Divine Lady” and three short talkies will finally be presented this evening. TO-MORROW (WEDNESDAY) i ' The mighty all talking drama of the sea will be screened at to-morrow’s matinee and evening and Thursday Hobart Bosworth play the part of “Hurricane.” His perfect understanding of sea characters, and the pleasure that, he takes in playing them may be traced to the fact that he spent three of the most impressionable years of his life, from, twelve to fifteen, before the mast. Those were romantic days when square-rigged clipper ships handled most of. tho ocean trade and plied between all ports of the globe. Tire use of sound and dialogue enhances the value of this type of picture, the swishing of thp water, the lashing of the sails, the howl of the wind and creaking of the windlass add a realism impossible to obtain otherwise. Tho action of the all-talking epic of the sea, was taken off the coast of, California, aboard the historic old

PLUNKET BALL Dance patrons are given a final reminder that the Greymouth Plunket Society’s annual, ball will take place to-night in the Town Hall. Restieaux’s orchestra will supply music for old and modern dances, and the committee in charge of the ball have made special efforts to make the decorations and supper most enjoyable features. Past successes and a worthy cause should ensure a record attendance at what, promises to be the Society’s most successful ball.
