KAYE DON’S ATTEMPT (By Cable—Press Assn.—Copyright.) LONDON, March 13. Segrave thinks that Kaye Don will achieve 250 miles per nour if the weather and sand conditions are the same as when he himself made this record. So long as the record remains British, he says, he does not intend to race again.

BEACH UNSATISFACTORY (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON. March 15. Wakefield and Coy. have received the following cable from Kaye Don, who will attempt to beat the world s land speed record established by Sir Henry Seagrave at Daytona Beach: — “Engine started first time to-day. Beach in poor shape. Estimate at least a week before record trial seriously attempted.”
