RAILWAY MISHAP
“CULPABLE NEGLIGENCE.” (By Cable—Presß Assn.- 7 Copyright.) SYDNEY, February 14. The Coroner’s . inquiry into a railway accident at Warrimoo, on January 27, when the loco driver and fireman were killed, concluded today. The evidence showed that the accident was due to the laxity of certain officials, who had left, rhe lock off the catch points, causing the derailment. The Coroner found that Pilotman Robert Hindmarsh and Flagman Alexander Gollen were guilty of culpable negligence, and committed both for trial. Bail was fixed at £5O. Thomas Berkley, signalman at Blaxland, was .severely censured. ...ndmarsh was described as a man totally unfitted to be a pilotman, there having been hardly one of his duties not broken.
