WAIUTA NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent.) Mr. K. Walker has left on a visit to Wellington. „ . Miss Edna Kirby (Hari Hari) is visiting her grandmother, Mrs. O’Donn6Mr. W. Chisnail has disposed of his interest in the Blackwater Hotel to Mr. John McNamara, formerly of Reefton, and leaves at an early date. Last week end Waiuta A. scored a win against Inangahua Junction at cricket. The scores were: Waiuta — First innings 83, second innings 47 (for 7 wickets); Inangahua —First innings 40, second innings 40. Best scorers were, for Waiuta: R. Tomlinson: for Inangahua, S. Whitehead 13. This week the unfavourable weather compelled a cancellation of all sporting fixtures. A fairly severe shock of earthquake was felt before 11.30 a.m. on Sunday. Altogether 4.66 inches of rain has fallen this month. The past six days have been one continuous downpour’ of rain, hail and sleet, with snow on the- surrounding hills.
