DAIRYING MERGER. HASTINGS, December 7. An important transaction, relating to the dairying industry in Central Hawke’s Bay, has just been completed, the Heretaunga Co-operative Dairy Coy., with headquarters at Hastings, having purchased the property, plant and goodwill of the Waipukurau Cooperative Dairy Coy., whose headquarters were at Waipukurau. Dairying is now making such rapid progress on the rich land around Hastings, that the Heretaunga Co. were faced with the necessity for doubling the plant capacity within the next year or two. The establishment of a branch factory in their southern territory will reduce overhead expenses and consolidate the districts’ dairying industry under progressive organisation, which has reached a high place for the quality of products and the price paid to the suppliers.
