WELLINGTON, November 26. Wing-commander Dalton combats the criticism of the airport. He says that the hangars are in correct position, and airmen have no right to fly over them, but should come in from the east or west side, both of which are open and give proper landing, whther the wind is north or south. The hangars are close to the hill, which makes a descent from that direction improper. The next lot of hangars will be built on the same side, which is their correct place. The airmast to which objection is taken is also, ho considers, in the right position. WELLINGTON’S BY-LAWS. ' WELLINGTON, November 26. The flying by-laws proposed by the City Council, include a rule that over the city airmen must not come below two .thousand feet. If the> engine fails the pilot must endeavour to land at the edge of the water. The question of parachutes for passengers was raised but the mayor said that only the Government could handle that.
Members of the Council considered that all machines should be regularly tested, but the Mayor held the onus could not be laid on the Council. Both this insurance and othei’ things would have to be dealt with.
