CRICKET.

The first match in the Pratt Cup competition took place on Reefton Racecourse, on Sunday, when Waiuta and Reefton tried conclusions. The game resulted in a win for Reefton by an innings and eight runs. For the winners Blom 58, S. Hunt 36, Bonifacio 19, W. Hannah 16 and L. McKane 13 got into double figures. In Waiuta’s first innings S. Hunt took four wickets for two runs, and in the second six wickets for 18 runs. (Green 13, Douglas 16, Holman, not out 15). Waiuta’s first innings closed for 53, but in the second they put up a better stand, scoring 99 before all were disposed of, Fitzgerald 41, Green 27, and J. Holman 12, reaching double figures.
