CAR HITS TIGER

ADVENTURE ON INDIAN ROAD. BOMBAY, September 7 While motoring at Glen Morgan, 14 miles from Octacamund, in Southern India, Mr. A. H. Jackman met three fully grown tigers in the centre of the road. It was a pitch-dark night and very misty, and Mr. Jackman first thought the animals to be jackals. When he realised they were tigers he. pressed the accelerator, hoping the tigers would scatter as he advanced. The cah caught one, of the animals full force on the hindquarters, knocking it dswn and running over it There were loud roars and yelps from the injured tiger, but Mr. Jackman, although his car was damaged, did not stop to give first aid.
