PEA-RIFLE ACCIDENT

MOTHER WOUNDED BY SON.

Mrs. H. Fitz, a resident of Hartley Vale, near Lithgow, New South Wales, was admitted to hospital recently in a serious condition as the result of a shooting accident. She was standing on the verandah of her home with her little son, when the latter picked up a pea rifle, which was leaning against the Avail, and, under the impression that it Avas unloaded, Avas pointing it at various objects. Suddenly the Aveapon exploded, the bullet penetrating his mother’s back.

Mrs. Fitz Avas hurried to LithgOAV by car, and admitted to hospital suffering from loss of blood.
