DR. STRESEMANN. (Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) (By Came—Press Assn.—Copyright.’ LONDON, October 11. The Times’s Berlin correspondent states: In memory of the late Dr. Stresemann, the Berlin Municipality is renaming the famous Koniggratzer Strasse as Stresemann Strasse. Nuremburg and a number of provincial cities are honouring him in a similar way. CANADIAN NAVAL BASE OTTAWA, October 8. Canadian officials received with interest an intimation by Washington despatches, of Mr. Ramsay MacDonald’s visit to Canada to discuss with the Government the demilitarising of the naval base at Halifax. It is emphasised here that the Imperial Government is without any authority in the matter, as Canadian naval and military activities and all naval property, once under Imperial jurisdiction, have now passed into Canada’s hands, and Halifax has been under Canada’s complete control since 1906. Officials declined to comment as to whether demilitarisation will constitute a feature of the projected London conference.
