Hatry and his co-defendants were remanded till October 14. Bail was refused. „ Abram Allibone, Town Clerk of Wakefield, gave evidence that the Corporation General Securities Ltd. issued the Wakefield loan of three-quarters of a million in January. Dixon decided that £50,000 should be remitted in March, and £lOO,OOO at the end of August. Wakefield had only received £lOO,OOO. Dixon promised to remit £200,000 early in September,. and invest the balance, but failed. Albert Cutterbuck, city treasurrer, Gloucester, gave evidence that the Corporation issued in January half a million loan on behalf of Gloucester, which received the money in instalments, but did not pay the expenses of the issue. The city, by August, had received only a quarter of a million. Applications' for registration of script amounted to three-quarters of a million.
