REEFTON NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent). REEFTON, Sept. 2. Stormy conditions here prevailed at Reefton during the night. Strong winds amounting at times to gale force have been experienced. The rainfall has not been particularly heavy the humid conditions are melting the snow and this will rise the rivers. The low level bridge over the Maruia River at Williscrqfts was used by the motor cars on Saturday. So far the span is across the main stream only. The other tw<o streams remain to be finished, but 'only the heaviest floods will affect the traffic. The funeral of the late Miss Margaret Murray, took place on Saturday and was attended by Intimate friends and relatives from Nelson Creek, Greymouth, and Hukarere. The cortege moved from the Church of the Sacred Heart. Rev. Father Ginisty rendered the prayers for the dead at the church, and Rev. Fathers O’Meeghan and Ginisty officiated at the graveside. Mr. Geo. Citossman senior, underwent a further operation at the Reefton Hospital on Friday last, and is progressing favourably after the operation. Advice has been received at Reefton of the success at the Trinity College June examinations of Misses E. Stallard and G. Magee who have passed in the Art of Teaching and are now full associates.
