OPERA HOUSE TO-NIGHT. “Beau Broadway” will be shown at the Opera House to-night and tomorrow night. “Beau Broadway” costars Aileen Pringle and Lew Cody, and is an unusual film romance of the bright lights and the squared circle. Cody and Pringle are here in a sophisticated comedy that is pure joy and excitement from first to last. RUNANGA CHILDREN’S DANCE The Runana children’s plain and fancy dress ball was held in the Miners’ Hall on Friday. The grand march started at 8.30 p.m. Steele’s orchestra was engaged. The children held the flooi* until eleven o’clock when an adult dance followed. Miss White (Greymouth) and Mr. R. McTaggart (Mayor) were the judges. Ninety-four couples took part in the March and the judges found it difficut to pick the winners. An energetic ladies’ committee provided a good supper. The following donated prizes: Mr. Robertson (Greymouth), Mr. Airey (Greymouth), Mr. Graham (Cobden), Mr. Braithwaite (Runanga), Mr. Manderson (Runanga). Assistance was given by Misses King, Richmond and Quinn, Messrs T. and J. Timlin. Mr. J. McPhee was an efficient M.C. The prizes were won by the following: —

TRINITY FLOWER SHOW Daffodil growers will welcome the news that Sir Heaton Rhodes has promised to send to the Trinity Spring Flower Show on October 18, a collection of blooms from his gardens at Otahuna. These flowers will be staged for exhibition purposes only, and will not compete with local growers.
