COAST CENTRE MEETING In the absence of Mr. J. D. Wingham at the meeting of the West Coast Rugby League last evening Mr. L. Jackson presided ovei’ a small attendance of delegates. Runanga Club had protested against Blackball having played A. Leach and C. Leach in the junior Knock-out competition, on the grounds that the former was a senior and that the latter had played two games for Brunner. The matter had been referred to the Blackball Club and the secretary replied last evening that both had been members of the Blackball Club for two years and had never been transferred to Brunner. It was stated by a delegate that Brunner Club had applied to have Clayton Leach transferred but the matter had not been completed, and the player had subsequently returned to Blackball. The meeting resolved to defer further consideration of the position until next meeting. Intimation was received that Mr. F. Turnbull, of Dunedin, had been appointed manager of the South Island team, and that West Coast members were to meet him in Christchurch on September 4. The .Norman Cox Memorial Cup match, which carries with it the schoolboys’ championship of the South Island, at present held by the West Coast, is to be played on August 31. The eLague has arranged that the game will be played at Cobden instead of at the Recreation ground in conjunction with a Soccer game. An unbeaten Linwood Club team with a weight limit of sst 61b. will visit Greymouth on August 31, and will play, as a curtain-raiser to the Cox Memorial match, against a Coast representative team of the same weight limit.
