REEFTON NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent.) REEFTON, July 31. Mr R. C. Ruffin, until lately mine manager at the. New Murray Creek Mines, left for. Cromwell, Otago, yesterday, to take up his new appointment at Cornish Point, in that locality. Mr Thos. Kelly, an old resident of the 12-Mile, Grey Valley, was a visitor to Reefton yesterday, and went on to Westport by the service car. Mi’ J. F. Shaw, formerly of the Post Office staff, Reefton, and lately of Karamea, has been transferred to Westport.
Mr R. Don, Headmaster of the Cronadun School, left this morning for Spring Grove, where he has been appointed. The following officers of the Inangahua Miners’ Union have been elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr Chas. Chandler; Vice-Pre-sident, Mr J. C. White; Treasurer, Mr W. Harvey; Trustees, Messrs. E. Elliston and M. Sara; Auditors: Messrs A. Chadwick and E. Patterson; Executive (7): Messrs M. Bourke, F. Sara, C. McMasters, Spencer, Taylor, WJ. Mitqhell, Geo. Lleogre'en, Thos. Dunn. A ballot for Secretary and Workmen’s Inspector will be taken at an early date, W. Hynes and D. .MeKane being nominated for the position.
