PUBLIC NOTICES NOTICE TO MAKE RETURNS OF LAND UNDER THE LAND AND INCOME TAX ACT, 1923. I'VrOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in pursuance of the above Act and the Regulations made thereunder, 'every person and company within the meaning of the said Act, whether a taxpayer or not, being owner of land in New Zealand, is hereby required to make and furnish to me, in the prescribed form, returns of such land as at 12 o’clock noon on the 31st day of March, 1929. If the total unimproved value of the land of any person , or company, as assessed under the Valuation of Land Act, 1925, does not exceed £5OO, a return of land need not be furnished.

And, further, notice is hereby given that such returns shall in all cases be delivered at or forwarded to the office af the Commissioner of Taxes, in the Government Buildings at Wellington, ■ jn or before the Bth day of April, 1929. GREY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD. PUBLIC NOTICE. PURSUANT to Section 10 of “The x Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” the Grey Electric Power Board HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it proposes to raise a SPECIAL LOAN, and to Grey Electric Power District for the purpose of obtaining their consent thereto, and that the particulars relative to the said proposed special loan are as follows: — 1. The purposes for which the said Special Loan is to be raised are: — (a) The purchase and construction of Electric Works as defined in “The Electric Power Boards Act, 1925,” for the supply of electric ity within the Grey Electric Power District (Arnold River scheme). (b) The purchase and equipment of offices and showrooms for the use of the Board, or the purchase of a site for and the erection thereon and the equipment of offices and showrooms for the use of the Board.

2. The sum proposed to be borrowed is £llB,OOO, being £llO,OOO for the purposes mentioned in paragraph 1 (a) above and £BOOO in respect of the purposes mentioned in paragraph 1 (b) above. 3. The proposed security for the said special loan is a special rate of ONE AND SEVEN-SIXTEENTHS PENCE 1 7-16 in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in the Grey Electric Power District, such security to provide interest on the said special loan at a rate not to ex-, ceed £5 10s per centum per annum, and a sinking fund for repayment of the said special loan calculated at the rate of £1 per centum per annum on the sum of £66,000, being part of the said special loan, and at the rate of £2 per centum per annum on the sum of £52,000, being balance of the said special loan. 4. The period for repayment of the said special loan shall in respect of the sum of £66,000, being part of the said special loan, not exceed the term of 36% years, and shall in respect of the sum of £52,000, being balance of the said special loan, not exceed the term of 26 years. 5. It is proposed to pay out of the said special loan the cost of raising such loan, and the interest of such special loan for the first year, or for such longer period as is allowed by law.
