OPERA HOUSE. Unable to stand idle and see his family name bandied from mouth to mouth, Buck Jones, in his latest release, “The Branded Sombrero,” which screens at the Opera House to-night, 'tears through some impressive scenes. Throwing all thought of safety to the four winds, Buck gives one of his finest portrayals as Star Hallett, the adopted son of “Honest” John Hallett. SUNDAY NIGHT BENEFIT. Devotees of the screen with a fad for police dogs should see “Dynamite,” the peer of his breed, in the stellar role in “Call of the Heart,” which shows at the Sunday night Picture Benefit. The almost human portrayal of this canine star outshines his twolegged compeers of the silver screen. The picture unfolds a plot which is appealing in its action, drama and heart throbs. - DOUBLE STAR—MONDAY. Mil ton Sills starred in “The Valley of the Giants” at the Opera House on Monday, has one of the most colourful roles -of his career as the young lumber magnate, in this Peter B. Kyne story of the Big Trees. One of the greatest of all novelists, Mary Robert Rinehart, wrote the story of Laura La Plante’s newest starring vehicle, “Finders Keepers,” which will open at the Opera Plouse on Monday, It was written as a short story, and published in one of America’s leading periodicals.

HIBERNIAN SOCIETY BALL. The Hibernian Society’s annual ball in connection with St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, was held in the Society’s Hall last night. The gaily decorated hall was crowded with dancers, who made the most of a good floor, and music supplied by Steel’s orchestra. Supper was served in an adjacent club-room and was greatly appreciated. The function will take place in the' Hospital Grounds, and the Mayor (Mr J. W. Greenslade) will declare the new Hannan Ward and administration block officially open. Several stalls have been arranged for and afternoon tea will be dispensed.
