BOWLING. The semi-finals of the Club Pairs competition took place last evening, on the Greymouth Club green. Brislane and Sharp (s) had a comfortable win over Crooks and Steele (s). Shannon and Miller (s) defeated Moss (substitute for Graham) and Olney (s), leading throughout. ST. PATRICK’S SPORTS. The usual St. Patrick’s Day sports will be held in Victoria Park on March 18. A fine programme has been drawn up and numerous nominations should make the meeting very interesting. Good money is offered for each of the big events, for which nominations close on Saturday, March 9, with the joint secretaries, M. G. Kelly and J; I. Mcllroy. PICTON REGATTA. PICTON, February 23. Conditions are perfect for the New Zealand Championship Regatta, which is being held here to-day. The water is perfectly smooth, and provided a plight northerly breeze at present prevailing, does not freshen, the championship course will be excellent, and the oarsmen will meet under the fairest terms. There is bright sunshine and a large crowd is already gathering. LATER. Champion fours: Hamilton (G. W. St. Clair, B. Sandos, W. Bagby, E. A. Waters) 1; Wanganui Union (C. A. Healey, M. Galbraith, A. Moss, W. Kruse) 2; Picton 3; Wairau 4; Queen’s Drive 5. Won by three feet, two lengths between Wanganui Union and Picton. A splendid race and the water perfect. Time 11.35 4-5.
