(Recd. Feb. 12, 11.30 a.m.) CANBERRA, February 12. The Board of Enquiry appointed by the Public Service Commissioners to investigate the charges by Captain Larkin against M. Shepherd (Secretary of Defence) reported that the charges were not proved. The Minister of Defence accordingly lifted Shepherd’s suspension. The Board expressed the opinion that Larkin appeared to be readily prone to suspicion, and seemed to look for ulterior- motives when decisions were against his company. The complaints lodged by Larkin are unwarranted.
