MINISTER OF TRANSPORT
MR. VEITCH APPOINTED. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, February 11. The Hop. W. A. Veitch has been appointed to the new portfolio of Ministry of Transport. “I am very much interested in the work which I will have to do, and I hope to overcome some of the difficulties that have arisen in connection with motor transport generally,” said Mr Veitch. “Until I have settled down pud appointed my staff, I cannot make any definite statement as to the lines on which I will work. Many difficult problems are arising, owing to convicting interests, but I am quite sure that, with the application of a little common sense and mutual forbearance, we can do much to improve the motor transport services in the general interests of all the people.”
