SHIPPING NOTES. The Kartigi sailed yesterday with coal and timber for Wellington. The Kaiapoi arrived yesterday from Wellington to load timber for Melbourne and Adelaide. The Kamona sails to-morrow with coal and timber for Wellington. The Kaponga is d,ue to-day from Bluff to load coal and timber for Auckland, completing at Westport. The Kaitoa sailed early yesterday morning with timber for Nelson and Motueka. The Regulus is due to-morrow from Wellington, via Nelson and Westport, with general cargo. On arrival she will load coal for Tarakohe. The Gabriella is due on Thursday to load timber for Sydney. The. Ihumata sailed late on Saturday with timber for Melbourne. The Gael arrived earlj r on Saturday and left soon after for Milford Sound. Captain Creese is relieving Captain Kane of command of the Poolta. The latter master is going to Wellington. Mr. T. A. McPherson has relieved Mr. N. M. Bonetti as chief officer of the Kahika, the latter officer having joined the Waipiata in a similar capacity. Mr. J. W. Thomson, late chief officer of the Corinna, has joined the Kamona, relieving Mr. S. AV. Hodson for transfer. U.S.A. SHIPS SOLD. WASHINGTON, February 9. The Shipping Board has accepted a sixteen million dollar bid for the merchant marine. The action, however, is not final, as it will doubtless be reviewed by the Senate Commerce Committee. LINER RE-FLOATED. TOKIO, February 10. The liner Matzinger has been refloated, and is docking for repairs at Nagasaki.
