Heavy showers in the city and vicinity on Saturday interfered with sports and cricket, few games being played. CYCLE-TRACK TRAGEDY. MELBOURNE, February 11. Travelling at 85 miles per hour, a cycle ridden by Eddie Brown at the Motordrome skidded. The rider was thrown to the track, and the machine leaped into the crowd, fatally injuring two youths, William Bell and Leslie Goldsmith. Brown was taken to the hospital, suffering from a fractured skull. BATHER DROWNED SYDNEY, Feb. 11. James Curran, aged 16, met a terrible death while bathing at Woronofa river. He was preparing to dive from the ledge of a rock, when it snapped off, and threw Curran and a companion into the water, falling on top of them. The second lad managed to scramble clear but Curran was held down by the rock and slowly drowned.
