HEAVY CASUALTY LIST 110 KILLED—6OO INJURED (Australian Press Association.) (By Cable —Press Assn. —Copyright.) DELHI, February 9. With the arrival of additional military and police, the situation at Bombay has considerably improved, and it is officially announced that the total casualties since the beginning of the riots are 69 killed and 449 injured. As in Calcutta in 1926, the casualty roll now is due, not to clashes between large mobs but to numerous assassinations and assaults in. narrow by-lanes. The Hindu and Moslem leaders are exhorting their communities to be peaceable.
Forty-six Pathans and Moslems have been arrested and charged with rioting. DRASTIC DECREES. (United Service.) (Receved February 11, 11 a.m.) DELHI, February 10. The total casualties in Bombay are a hundred and ten killed and over six hundred injured, thirty-five being killed yesterday. There were eighty arrests. By Government Magisterial orders, assemblies of five or more persons are illegal. No person may loiter in the streets between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Ail liquor shops are closed. FURTHER SHOOTINGS. (Recd. Feb. 11, 10 a.m.) CALCUTTA, February 10. Fierce rioting occurred in Bombay on Saturday following a period of comparative quiet. Troops opened fire on the mobs in the Nadgeoi district, thirty-five being killed and 193 injured between noon on Friday and Saturday. The total casualties are now 115 killed and more than 600 injured.
