FATHER STABBED

“FELL ON THE KNIFE.”

MASTERTON, February 8. Owen Llewellyn Udy, 18 years, of Carterton, appeared in Court this morning on a charge of wounding Alberti John Udy in the stomach with a knife. The incident occurred at Carterton last night, the injured man being admitted to the Masterton Hospital. Accused was remanded. The adjourned hearing of the charge against Udy took place at the Hospital this afternoon. The depositions of Albert John Udy, whose condition is serious, were heard. He said it was an accident. He slipped on the concrete at the back of the door ant fell on the knife. He did not see accused with the knife, and had no words with him; neither did he strike accused. He was on quite good terms with his son.
