AWARD OF HONOURS

PARIS, January 24. The International Aviation League has awarded its Lady Aviator’s Trophy to Lady Bailey for her Lon-don-Cape Hight, and its aviator’s trophy to Colonel Arturo Ferrarin. of Italy, by a. majority of two votes over Commander Kingsford Smith. The trophy for air navigation, which was not awarded in 1927, was awarded to Major Rosenthal, the Commander of the “Los Angeles,” and the trophy for 192 S was awarded to Doctor Eckener, the commander of the “Graf Zeppelin.” The national trophy for England was voted to Bert Hinkler. That for Australia was awarded to Kingsford Smith, while that for United States wont to Eilson, the companion of Wilkins.
Among the medals of honour for navigators or passengers participating in. notable flights are: Mr H. Wilkins (passenger), Eielson arid Lieut. C. H. Ulin (second pilot to Kingsford Smith) Medals have also been awarded to Engineer-Aviator Locierva, the inventor of the auto-giro, and Lady Heath, in commemmoration of her achievements in 1928.
