GREY TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL. ENROLMENTS FOR 1929. rpHE TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL A will RE-OPEN for new pupils on MONDAY, February 4, at 9.30 a.m. Other pupils return on TUESDAY, February 5. All new pupils must present themselves on MONDAY for preliminary examination, and come provided with writing material. ENROLMENTS may be made at the school office on THURSDAY, January 31, and Friday, February 1, between the hours of 1.30 and 4.30 p.m. No enrolment is complete until the enrolment form has been signed by the parent, the Primary School Progress Card handed in, and the S.C. Certificate produced. No pupil may attend classes until enrolment has been made. Arrangements for enrolling Hostel pupils from a distance may be made by letter to the Principal at any time, and it is suggested that this should be done at once. Evening Class enrolments will be notified later. J. HUTTON, M.A., L.L.B. Principal. GREY TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL. THE FIRST TERM will commence on MONDAY, February 4. Enrolments will be taken on January 31 and February 1. The Technical High School provides for all classes of Secondary work. The following courses are available: — (a) Professional or General Course, leading to Matriculation and allied examinations such as Accountancy. Engineering Premilinary etc. (b) Trades Course, .suitable for boys who on leaving school wish to enter any of the skilled trades. This is also a serviceable course for the boys who will later- take up farming. (c) Commercial Course, for girls desirous of taking up shop and office positions and for boys whose stay at school will not be lengthy. (d) Domestic Course, for girls who wish to take up Dressmaking, Millinery, Nursing, or home pursuits. All pupils in every course take the basic subjects of English, Arithmetic or mathematics, and Civics. The School is well-equipped and quite capable of taking all types of post-primary work to the standard reached in any secondary school. A well-furnished Hostel, better equipped than most school hostels, is available for country pupils at a very moderate charge. There is a Boys’ wing and a Girls’ wing. Intending boarders should make immediate application.

DY Order in Council, made and issued by His Excellency the Gov-ernor-General in Council on the 10th daj r of October, 1928, under the authority of the above Act, it wus determined that the duty by way of In-come-tax, leviable under section 3 of the said Act, should be paid in one sum on FRIDAY, the Sth day of February, 1929, at the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, Government Buildings, Wellington; and, in accordance with such Order in Council, I hereby give notice that the said dutj’ will be payable accordingly. Additional tax will accrue if the tax is not paid on or before March Ist., 1929. The liability to pay is not suspended by any objection. The tax should be paid on or before the prescribed date, otherwise the additional percentage accrues; any overpayment will be adjusted by refund. The demands will be posted from the office of the Commissioner of Taxes on or about January 31, 1929. Demands must be presented with all payments, and taxpayers who expect a demand and do not receive one should notify me of the fact. E. J. R.
