RAILWAY MISHAP. NEWCASTLE, Jan. 14. Smashing a way through the dead ■ end at Owrimbah, a train engine with fender and three trucks fell over the embankment. The driver, fireman and guard were injured but not seriously. The crew were buried under the timber in trucks which had to be cut away before they were released. SEAMEN’S UNION. MELBOURNE, January 13. The Commonwealth Steamship Owners’ Association is objecting to the registration of the Australian Seamen’s Union unless the latter’s rules are altered. The owners contend that the Union's definition of industry is too wide, and may complicate business by involving the Association in disputes extending to other countries. The rules were lodged in November. Now another organisation, the Seamen’s Union of Australasia, has applied for registration. The owners may lodge objection thereto also.
