ROUND THE WORLD NON-STOP.

NEW YORK, January 9.
At Wichita, Kansas, Colonel Goebel, winner of the Dole Honolulu flight, announced to-day that he will attempt a non-stop around the world flight as soon as preparations can be made, probably next August or September. It has been proved that such a flight is possible, Goebel asserted. FIVE AMERICANS KILLED. NEW YORK, January 11. At Middleton (Pennsylvania) five soldiers were killed and three seriously injured when an Army aeroplane crashed there to-day. HINKLER’S GOLD MEDAL (Australian Press Assn. —United Service.) PARIS, Jan. 11. The International Aeronautical Federation Congress to-day awarded Hinkler a gold medal for the finest aerial exploit in 1928, when he flew from England to Australia.
