CAR OVER BANK

DUBLIN TERRACE MISHAP. (Our Own Correspondent.) REEFTON, December 28. A motor car accident occurred yesterday afternoon on Dublin Terrace, beyond Lyell, whereby three people were injured, and a car was almost i totally destroyed. The injured people were travelling from Nelson to the Coast in a private car, which was met by another private car. The Coastbound car went over the bank, falling about 200 feet. The injured people were Mr. Chidgey, of Christchurch, his wife, and Miss Davies. The married lady sustained severe injuries to one ankle, being pinned under the car for about an hour until help arrived. it took nine people to lift the car off the injured woman. The other# sustained scalp and face wounds, and are suffering from shock. A medical man came along, and ordered the injured people to the hospital. They were conveyed to the Reefton Hospital in one of Gibbs’ cars. It was with difficulty that they were got up the bank at the scene of the accident, as the hill there is very steep.
