The through train service between Greymouth and Christchurch will run daily (except Sunday) from Wednesday. December 19, to Saturday, Jan uary 5 inclusive. Connections will be made with trains from and to Hokitika, Reefton and Blackball each day except on December 25 there will be no connection from and to Blackball., south of Hokitika north of Reefton. and from and to Rewanui. On December 22 and 24, January 2 and 5 Relief Mail trains will run between Greymouth and Christchurch.
A meeting of Cobdent residents will be held to-morrow evening to make arrangements for the annual picnic. A good attendance is expected. J. C. Malfroy and Co., Ltd., Sawmillers, invite tenders for felling crosscutting and delivering logs on to the company’s trucks for the supply of their Three Mile Sawmill. Conditions etc., may be inspected at the Company’s mill. Tenders will close on Saturday, December 22. Work to commence on Monday, January 7.
