AUCKLAND, December 8A slightly-built man, aged about 30 years, was knocked down by a motorcar on Panmure Road, Ellerslie, at a quarter-past nine last evening. He died in the Auckland Hospital lialf-an-hour later from head injuries. He was rushed to tflre hospital by the driver of the motor car, Gage Brown, of Bracken Avenue, Ellerslie. MELBOURNE, December 8. In the semi-finals of the Victorian tennis championships, Hopman beat Schlesiger 6/4, 6/3, 4/6, 6/1; Crawford beat Gregory (England) 6/2, 4/6, 6/3, 8/6. Samuel Robertson-Orr, formerly of Now Zealand, mulcted in exemplary costs by the .Judge, who granted divorce to Gordon Fleck, a wealthy Vancouver citizen, naming Orr as the co-respondent. The clergyman was also fined £2O, with costs, for assault upon Fleck’s lawyer, who gave Orr a grilling examination.
