RUNANGA NOTES

(Our Own Correspondent.)

(Our Own Oorrespondontt.) Runanga residents are due for a surprise on December 7- The local Gymnastic Club, whose carnival falls due on that date, lhas spared no effort to eclipse their previous performance- For the past fortnight the club members have been working overtime constructing special scenery for their plays, and by all accounts the residents of Runanga will be staggered with the stage decoration. The programme will be opened with a play entitled “The Stolen Necklace,” written by a member and played by the members of the club. Following the play, musical and vocal items will be rendered by ever-respon-sive local talent. A short comedy pianette entitled “The Perfect Butler,” also written by a member, will open the second half of the programme. ..

I'hen comes a spectacular gymnastic display on the horizontal and parallel bars. For the past few months the club has been engaged in practising a number of pyramids, and to-morrow (Friday) night they have for the conclusion of the programme six splendid pyramids which are sure to receive a hearty ovation.
