OPERA HOUSE.
“That’s My Daddy,” which will show at the Opera House to-night offers the ultimate triumph of wholesome screen comedy. The story was written by Reginald Denny who stars in this Universal farce, and also wrote “Fast and Furious.” MERRY WIDOW. “The Merry Widow,” a Metro-Gold-wyn-Mayer picture reproduction of the world-famous musical comedy-drama coming to the Opera House to-morrow night (Thursday) one night only. John Gilbert, that dashing and handsome player, has the role of the royal lover, Danilo. Roy D’Arcy, splendid exponent of “heavy” roles, plays the Crown Prince to perfection. MAWHERA CLUB DANCE. The Mawhera tennis dance will be a big attraction next Saturday night, to be held in the Oddfellows’ Hall. Weather permitting, exeryone is expected to wear tennis outfit. The blindfold dance is a novelty of its own ; a lot of fun will be attached to this dance. A special prize will be awarded for the winner. The Citizens’ full orchestra will supply the latest jazz hits and the floor is one of the best, so reserve Saturday, November 24, for this dance. CAKE AND~APRON FAIR. The ladies of St. John’s Presbyterian Church are holding a Cake and Apron appearance at the Town Hall on Thursday), the Fair opening at 2.30 p.m. Work, cakes, sweets and produce stalls will be well filled with dainty goods and wear, the cake stall being a special feature. A dainty afternoon tea will be served. The young ladies in charge of the work stall have many pretty Chistmas gifts for sale, including emChristmas gifts for sale, including embroidered aprons and wearing apparel. Admission to the Fair is free, and it will be on only in the afternoon. THE CO-PEPTIMISTS. That popular band of entertainers, the “Co-Peptimists,” make their next appearance at the Town Hall on Thurs day, November 29. The proceeds of this concert are 'to swell the funds of the Grey Hospital, a cause worth the support of every citizen. The concert will include a picture programme, supplied by Dlr A. Beban, and numbers by the talented personnel of the “CoPeps.” The programme is an excellent one, and should draw a crowded hous'e. The Boy Scouts have generously undertaken to take charge of the ticket selling.
