GUARDS OFFICER KILLED. (Australian Press Assn. —-United Service.) (By Cable—Press Assn—Copyright.)' RUGBY, November 9. Lieutenant G. H. Maddox, of the Coldstream Guards, was killed this afternoon when a single-seater aeroplane he was flying at the first meeting of the Household Brigade Flying Club at Brooklands crashed from a height of 1000 feet. The club was formed for officers of the Brigade of Guards, who wished to take up flying. Several officers own aeroplanes. CONFERENCE DELEGATE. BLENHEIM, November 13. The Marlborough Aero Club has appointed its President, Air 11. K. Hix, as delegate to he International Civil Aeronautical Conference at Washington in December. He ' leaves by the Aorangi from Auckland on November 20. Mr Dix has agreed also to represent the Auckland Club .
