For the light-heavyweight wrestling championship of the world, held at the Sydney Stadium, Clarence Eklund (12.6|), the title-holder, defeated Ted Thye (12.4) with a 'hammerlock hold and a fall in the sixth round. The contest was billed as a ten-round affair, but so severely did Eklund wrench Thye’s arm, almost breaking it out of the socket, that the referee stopped the bout and declared Eklund the winner. A huge audience approved the decision. ZARYNOFF BEATS GARDNER. MELBOURNE, November 10. In a wrestling match, Count Zarynoff (12.11) beat Pinkie Gardner.(l2.4) , scoi’ing a fall in the sixth round.
