A-4A message from Paris says: The Italian reply to the Anglo-French naval agreement has been received at Paris. It •is expected to create a storm. The reply virtually accuses England and France of combining to control the Mediterraneon. The “Morning Post’s” Paris cor- ’ respondent says: “Italy’s Note makes it clear that the Anglo-French , proposals are not acceptable to her.” NOT WIDE ENOUGH. LONDON, October 8. A summary of Italy’s Note, telegraphed to Downing Street, indicates that the naval agreement is. not sufficiently wide and should be extended to armies and aircraft. The full Note arrives by mail to-morrow. JOURNALIST ARRESTED. (Recd. October 9, 1.15 p.m.) PARIS, October 8. A surprising development in the leakage concerning the Anglo-French naval compromise to-night yas when detectives arrested Harold Horan, chief Paris correspondent for the Universal International News, the services of which serve the Hearst Press. Horan was questioned and released. At present it is unknown whether he will be asked to leave the country, or charged with the illicit use of confidential documents.
