PARLIAMENT
TO CLOSE TO-MORROW.

WELLINGTON, October 6
The Prime Minister stated in the House to-day that the session would end on Tuesday. The Supplementary Estimates and Finance Bill would be brought down on Monday afternoon, and the Appropriation Bill on Tuesday. The House sat from 11 a.m. until 4.17 p.m. to-day, in which time it passed the Native “Washing Up” Bill, Auckland University College Reserves Amendment, Local Legislation Bill, Copyright (temporary) Amendment Bill, Lands “Washing Up” Bill, and Engineers’ Registration Amendment Bill.
When the Native “Washing Up” Bill was before the House, Mr. Coates stated that he hoped to set up a commission to clear up the difficulties about Maori lands in the North; also to dispose of other difficulties in the South before next session.
