(Per Preaa Agaooiation.) MISSING MAN RETURNS. ’ CHRISTCHURCH, September 26. It was reported by the police tonight that W. J. Lar combe, clerk employed by McKenzie and Wills, auctioneers, returned to his home at St. Albans yesterday. Larcombe, who is 60 years of age, was reported missing on September IS. MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED. • WELLINGTON, September 27. Geoffrey Charles Phillips, 20, was fatally injured at Petone. He was riding a motor cycle and collided with a standing ’bus after coming out from behind a lorry. He was employed at the new railway workshops. HERD TESTING. WELLINGTON, September 26. The monthly meeting of the New Zealand Dairy Produce Board was held to-day, the Chairman, Mr. W. A. lorns, presiding. Tlie members of the Board waited on the Minister of Agriculture with a request that herd testing should be placed upon a Dominion basis. The Minister gave a sympathetic hearing. OLD WOMAN KILLED. AUCKLAND, September 26. Fatal injuries to the head were received by Mrs Susannah Wilkinson, of Panmure, as the result of being knocked down by a motor car this evening. She was walking on the roadway when ■she was struck by the car, and she died on the way to the hospital. Mrs Wilkinson, who was 79 years old, was one of the oldest residents of Panmure. CAR CAPSIZED. MASTERTON, September 26. A sedan car containing six passengers, belonging to Mrs Brough, of Wellington, but not driven *by her, skidded in loose metal on the main road near Greytown at about 6.10 o’clock this evening, and overturned, being badly damaged. Two of the six occupants were admitted to Grey town Hospital, Mrs Bell Comradi with head injuries, and Kenneth McDonald with leg Injuries, both of Wellington. A CCIDENTALLY SHOT. FOXTON, September 26. A tragic shooting accident happened on Robinson’s run, Himatangi, about noon to-day, the victim being James Vernon Robinson, 36 years of age, single, the eldest son of Mrs James H. Robinson, of Foxton. Deceased took a shotgun from a whare, with the object of shooting sheep-worrying dogs. Not returning to the whare for lunch, an employee made a search, and discovered the body alongside a fence, with a, wound in the top of the head.
