VACUUM COMEDY

MAN LOSES BEARD

(Australian Press Association,! (By. Cable—Press Assn.—Copyright.) VANCOUVER. September 14. At Nashville, Henry Warner, a farmer, is suing Floyd Hanson, an inventor, because Hanson's vacuum cleaner for chin-whiskers went on the rampage during a demonstration. This machine is designed to clean- cement dust and grit from the beards of workmen, and thus prevent razors from becoming dull too quickly. Hanson was doing well, until Warner’s beard became entangled in the suction fan. Before Hanson could reduce the power a handful of whiskers and a couple of square inches of Warner’s §kin had disappeared up the intake.
