At the basketball tourney, in the morning games, Canterbury beat Taranaki by 19 to 10, Auckland beat Otago by 21 to 13, and Wellington beat Southland by 23 to 13. The championship points were : Wellington 10, Auckland 10, Otago 6, Canterbury 4, Hawke’s Bay 4, Southland 2, Taranaki nil.
