There are a lot of funny and sarcastic things said about bargain hunters and sales, but there are few people who can resist the temptation to economise and at the same time gain every satisfaction with the goods procured. Men’s socks and tics are included in the Mercery department, at astoundingly low prices. Thorpy’s can safely claim a record for low prices, and their Salvage Sale promises to be the greatest in the history of Greymouth’s commerce.—A.D.
