PERSONAL NOTES

Mr and Mrs Lees left for Christchurch yesterday.

Misses Marshall and Arris, arrived from Christchurch yesterday and leave to-morrow for the glaciers.

Miss M. Braidwood, Matron of the Greymouth Hospital, is at present off duty, suffering from influenza.

Mr E. E. Williams, of Blackball, will leave for Christchurch to-morrow, returning next week.

A Sydney cablegram stated that Governor De Chair sailed by the Niagara last evening for Vancouver.

_ A London cablegram stated that the New Zealand Olympic competitors will sail for home by the Ruahine on September 4.

Guests at the Albion Hotel include: Mr and Mrs, Widowson (England), Misses Marshall and Aras, Mr F. Ellei' (Christchurch).

Miss M. J. Merion, of New Plymouth, has been appointed night Sister at the Greymouth Hospital, from four applicants. The appointment was made - by the Hospital Board last evening, acting on the recommendation of the Medical Superintendent (Dr. J. F. C. Moore).

The North Canterbury Hospital Board has recommended the appointment of Dr. I. C. Maclntyre, assistant superintendent at Cashmere Sanatorium, to the position of superintendent in succession to Dr. G. .T. Blackmore, who has resigned.

The death took place yesterday, at Hope, Nelson, of Miss Rose Pedrazzi, the younger daughter oF Mr Louis Pedrazzi, formerly resident of Ross, Mawheraiti, find Greymouth. The deceased was 27 years of age, and was born in Ross. She had been in bad health for some years. She leaves her father, one sister, Mrs Mirfln, of Hope, Nelson,, and one brother, Mr Louis Pedrazzi, formerly of the Greymouth Post Office staff, and now in the Christchurch Department. Deceased was a niece of Mrs W. Garth, of Greymouth.
