REEFTON, August 13.
The weather was mild but overcast and the turf in perfect condition for this Newman Cup fixture, played on the Racecourse last Saturday before a large mustering of spectators. The teams were: —
Karamea: Mesdames C. McNabb, B. Robbins, D. Lineham, Misses E. Lineham, W. Simpson, P. Lineham, H. Hawes, I. Caliori, Mrs T. McNabb, Misses M. V. McNabb, and O: Simkin. Inangahua: Mrs L. Lockington; Misses P. Kearns, E. Bolitho, M. Brooks, Mrs I. Colvin, Misses A. Patterson, M. Cutbush, L. Warren, K. O’Donnell, O. Ferguson, and J. MeElwee. Miss Cutbush and Miss O’Donnell scored for the home team, and Mrs McNabb for the visitors. Karamea showed better team work and also used their pads to stop the ball better than Inangahua, but lacked the finish of the home players. For the winners, Mrs Colvin, Misses Cutbush and Patterson were best. Mrs Lockington in goal did all that she was required to do well. The following have been chosen to represent Inangahua against Rangiora in the representative match to be played on the Racecourse on Wednesday next, bully-off 3.10 p.m.—Mrs L. Lockington (Vice-Capt.), Misses P. Kearns, E. Bolitho, O. Ferguson, Mrs [. Colvin (Capt.), Misses A. Patterson, M. Cutbush, L. Warren, K. O’Donnell, D. Alborn, and J. McElwee. Reserves: Misses M. Brooks, I. Griggs and O. Smith.
WELLINGTON. August 13 Senior A: Y.M.C.A. 1, Wesley 2. Karori 2, Hutt 2. Wellington 1, University 2. Senior B games postponed.
