SHIPPING NOTES.
The Kanna arrived .last night from Oamaru, and sails to-morrow evening, with coal, for Auckland. The Kaiapoi arrived last evening from Napier, and loads coal and poles 'for New Plymouth, Napier and Wellington, sailing late to-morrow. The Kamona is due on Wednesday from Wellington, to take coal, timber and general cargo for return. After overhaul at Auckland the Piri will load explosives for Greymdutuh. The Nobel auxiliary schooner Huia left Clarence Rivei’ on Thursday, with a full load of hardwood for Dunedin. After discharge she will go to Greymouth to load timber for Australia. The Kaimai is due about Thursday, to load coal for Wellington. Tho Balls Head is due from Auckland about Saturday next to take a return cargo of coal. The Kalingo sailed on Saturday night with 800,000 feet of timber for Sydney. The Gabriella is due at Greymouth on August 20, to load timber for Melbourne.
The Ihumata is due from Napier on August 21, to take a timber cargo to Sydney. The Tees left Lyttelton on Saturday night for Chatham Islands. The Parera arrived last night. She sails to-night for Westport, to load coal for New Plymouth. The Alexander is due from Wellington, via Westport, to load coal for Nelson.
Captain R. Clark has taken command of the Waipiata, relieving Captain C| Elders, who has gone to Wellington for instructions. Captain F. G. Bilton is in command of the Kaitoke in place of Captain J. Rankin, who has gone to Wellington on holiday leave. . Mr. F. G. Mabb, chief officer of the Kaikorai, has been transferred to the Kaitoke.
Mr. G. Kent, chief officer of the Kurow, has gone to Wellington for instructions.
